Attorney Profile

Elisa Maloff Reiter is the only attorney in our firm and all cases are handled personally by her. Mrs. Reiter received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Southern Methodist University, where she graduated, with honors, in 1980. She graduated from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1983.

Mrs. Reiter entered private practice after graduating from law school, and she worked as an attorney, respectively, with the law office of John J. Diggins, P.C., the law firm of Bedsole & Bird, P.C., and with the law firm of Seeligson, Douglass, Falconer, Vanden Eykel, Steinberg & Solomon, P.C. An "AV" rated litigator by Martindale Hubbell, Mrs. Reiter is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association and the Family Law Sections of each of these associations. Mrs. Reiter is also a member of the State Bars of the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, and New York. She is a certified mediator.

Mrs. Reiter's background is in family law and general practice. For over twenty years she has focused upon family oriented cases. She has worked on divorce, modification, custody and other family law matters ranging from small estates to those involving many millions of dollars, and the most precious asset of all: our children.

Mrs. Reiter is a member of the Board of Directors of the Child Abuse Prevention Center of Dallas, Texas. The mission of the CAP Center is to break the generational cycle of child abuse. The CAP Center was founded in 1992 by 400 volunteers from 13 Dallas area Exchange Clubs. CAP Center serves the Dallas community through:

  • the Parent Aide Mentor Program, which trains volunteer parent aide mentors to work at risk families referred by Child Protective Services and the Child Advocacy Center;
  • The Families First Divorce Education Program, which teaches divorcing parents with minor children the effects of divorce on their children;
  • Shaken Baby Syndrome Education, which teaches students and citizens strategies for dealing with crying babies and preventing this form of abuse;
  • Healthy Families Dallas which works with at risk pregnant teens in high poverty areas from the onset of pregnancy to the baby's third birthday.

Mrs. Reiter taught family law as an adjunct professor in Southern Methodist University's Continuing Education Program for 5 years. She presently sits on the Texas Family Law Exam Commission, the committee of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization responsible for writing and grading examinations for candidates seeking certification in Family Law. OUR PHILOSOPHY
_______________________________________________________________

We hope to maintain a small office where personal attention to your legal needs by an attorney is possible promptly and at a reasonable cost. We attempt to provide more individual attention to your case than is possible in legal clinics without resorting to the high?cost environment of many larger firms. We would like to establish long?term relationships with our clients and hope to dispel the apprehension sometimes experienced by those who may be intimidated by the legal profession.

OUR CLIENTS

Your opinions concerning the operation of our firm are important to us and we encourage you to forward any suggestions, comments or complaints to Mrs. Felts or to Mrs. Reiter. Most of our business comes from word?of?mouth referrals from previous clients, mental health professionals, and fellow lawyers. We certainly appreciate your recommending us to your friends and business acquaintances and hope that you will let us know when you have done so. We are also happy to provide free notary public service for clients during regular working hours.
